Aviation History The history of aviation has extended over more than two thousand years, from the earliest forms of aviation, kites and attempts at tower jumping, to supersonic, and hypersonic flight by powered, heavier-than-air jets.   These books, among others, were books I read at 12 and 13 years of age, and they really got my head up in the clouds, fueled my thirst for aviation. They are dear treasures from a time when my days were filled with magic and I was awestruck by aviation. I still have these books in paperback form.
